As I was heading into town this morning I saw what looked like a crop duster over town. He's D*** low, I thought.

Got closer in and, yes it was a bright yellow crop duster. Couldn't have been more than 200 feet AGL. Well below the minimum 1000 feet regulation.

During the next few hours I saw him make several passes with a "crop duster turn" at each end. Then I saw a second one over another part of town.

I heard through the grape vine that they were spraying for Gypsy Moths (the bug, not the plane:)), also known as Tent Worms. Quite destructive to vegetation, for those of you who have never seen them. There is quite a plague of them in this part of the country.

How many times did they have to bow towards the nearest FAA office to get permission for that?:ermm:

Anyone ever heard of this?
