Hello,

On a limited basis, Mountain Lake Labs is beta testing our ability to serve the kit plane and experimental aircraft builder market. The services listed on our website, www.MountainLakeLabs.com, are normally for in-house use but we have some new methods, software, and people to train on the full client service run from project intake to completion and would like to assign them some smaller, real-world jobs first while keeping that still in the aerospace field. Since we spend a lot of time in Research areas while keeping Development level functions and people, we need to open and gently throttle in some aerospace and unmanned aircraft related, little projects to keep our folks busy until needed again on the heavier work. But, nothing too big that we cannot have them finish up and rapidly swap over again to in-house work. Don't want to get spread too thin.

Some example projects good for our team and your needs:

1) Preferably small part fabrication projects -- brackets, rotors, gears, speciality parts, single part items. Hand drafted is fine and can be converted to CAD. Existing CAD files will also work, but usually require some rework prior to machining. Finite Element Analysis on such parts.

2) Cockpit dashboards. Electronics & flight computer fab. Pretty much anything. We like to start them off simple before entrusting to more complex and detailed projects.
Please keep in mind that most of our team is pretty busy at the moment while we don't want to completely swamp those in training and we don't want to take on any more than we can crank out for you exactly as stated. Just depends what you're seeking and how that matches with what we're doing here, but we always try to help you out if we can.

Our "nerd mercenary" prices and friendliness you will generally find much more welcome to the little guy and always in regard to aircraft. :lick: Little birds are where we first started out and are actually one of our happiest homes. Where we're kinda snobby, premadonna pirates and aloof to "The Man" with all his corporate rackets...you'll generally find us rather warm & friendly to all things of General Aviation.

If we can't help you, we find someone who can. If we don't know the answers, we find or show you how to find them. We have our shop rates and menu, but don't be afraid to say hello and sometimes we don't charge much if it's something we can help you with real fast and easy.

I've been out of General Aviation awhile and am a little rusty on some things at the moment -- present AD's per bird, new FAR's, etc....so it's a way of keeping our hands still in the soup, sharpening up the new hires, and keeping more steady work flow to our Development people and associates. Part of the reason we opened up these services to GA is also because many of my favorite little birds are getting older now, parts more rare or costly, the old warbirds often can't find parts, etc. But, now we can help keep them alive in the air a lot longer. And we especially like to help the experimental builds where the aircraft has never before existed.

Happy flying!
