I was wondering if at a 100/150 kts speed there would be any benefit of shaping a waist in a low wing monoplane to comply with the Area rule. Is it worth the effort?. I remembered the AR 6 has something like this and now I see if it is not what we know as a waist (depression), it seems to have some shape alike if we look at the cowling and canopy.
