These pictures are from the Ragwing plans. They show 3 different ways of attaching the rear landing gear strut (I mean the rear strut, not the rear gear).

The third one requires this fitting to be made out of 6061 aluminum, but I guess 4130 steel could be used. Likewise the struts themselves could be 6061 or 4130, depending on if it is a part 103 or experimental LSA.

What are the relative merits, or lack thereof, of the three methods?
