The sport license might be obtainable for $3000 if one is a fast learner. That is less than the cost of the airplane, and makes the pilot much safer.
So if a sport license lets you take up one passanger, why do people build 250 pound aircraft which can only carry one person and have to be under the 28 mph stall speed?
Is it a lot more expensive to make a light sport aircraft? Or are they just too windy?
