Long story short, I need to do a splice to lengthen my longerons. The existing tubing is 3/4" and by my measurements, it must be wall thickness .035." 5/8" rattles around inside it and I don't see 11/16" listed at Aircraft Spruce. So, I'm thinking I'll just get 3/4" with a wall thickness of maybe .095" and turn it down on my lathe to give me a good fit inside the existing tubing.
Is there a better alternative or is this a reasonable route for me to take?
Thanks,
Jay
