I have a set of Sky Pup plans and am considering tackling one as a low-cost project. One thing that gives me pause is the engine choice--the old Cayunas it was designed for are long gone and the Rotax 277, while available second-hand, is going to be pretty old as well.
Among new engines there are many 15-25 hp models sold for paramotors, but they are set up for pusher mounting, often with forced-air cooling. The Radne Raket 120, for example, uses forced-air cooling from a fan integral with the engine flywheel. Redrives, too, may not always take kindly to handling thrust loads from the opposite direction.
Does have any experience with modern parameter engines successfully operated In tractor configuration? Suggestions welcome.
Thanks and regards,
Matthew
