I'm designing my own plane. I guess a couple of reasons for undergoing the added struggle of doing all the design work myself are 1/ I've been studying aircraft design all my life. 2/ I want a tandem seat because I want to look down on both sides, they're more aerodynamic, and they're more fighter-like in appearance.

Why is it that that I don't see any tandem seat kits?

I realize that control of the CG is constant variable on a tandem. Dual controls is a potential issue. Sharing tasks may be more difficult. Because I'm not an experienced pilot yet, I am looking for all the pros and cons before I go any further. Am I heading down a road that I will regret?
