I finally got to see a Space Shuttle Launch. STS 119 lifted off at 7:43pm yesterday and my family and I were there to witness it. We watched the launch form the Kennedy Space Center viewing area. It was just after sunset and the lighting was perfect. You can even see how the top of the smoke trail is bathed in light from the sun right where the shuttle made it's turn east. One of the coolest things I've ever seen.
