Hello everyone. Looks like I need help again from someone much smarter than I am. I am including pictures for landing gear on my Skyboy. 30 years ago back in Czech Republic they decided to use motorcycle shock absorbers from Java 593. This is a relatively light Enduro bike with 250 cc engine and only 256 pounds empty weight. Rebuild kits not available anymore and I was hoping to be able to find something much better and lighter today for replacement. For sure new shocks will need to be changed in someway to fit into airplane versus motorcycle.
I am not sure if shock absorbers were modified in any way to be able to use on airplane. I can only see that mounting brackets is definitely were a custom made for this airplane. But not sure if regular motorcycle spring was used or not.
I would like to be able to find out what kind of shock absorbers do I need to get to replaced existing ones. I have no idea what kind of impact will be generated during typical landing on this LSA at 1320 lb and about 60 MPH.
Hopefully someone here have enough knowledge to help me with this. Any information is really appreciated. I will include all pictures that I have on the subject. Maybe this will help.
