Hello everyone
I'm about to start construction of an Osprey-2 amphibian. Some people raised concerns because I intend to use it for salt water operation. Someone described it to me as "throwing away" the aircraft. While I accept maintenance would increase specially with gear and metal parts that contact the water, how would it affect the fuselage?
Where I live if I have an amphibian and don't use it in the sea I might as well build a conventional aircraft. Let's assume a well taken care of aircraft, hangared, washed after the end of a day at the bay.
Is it really that bad?
