I think I know the answer to this question, but I need to know if someone more knowledgeable about Light Sport can help out.
I have an Acey Deucy. It's design weight comes in under the Light Sport weight limit, but it was certified over the limit because it has an extra fuel tank. I understand the builder can put whatever gross limit he or she wants regardless of where the designer puts it. I know that on a factory built plane you cannot change the gross weight by removing something. Does this also apply to experimentals. I think it does, but I'm not sure. I didn't build it. Who know for sure?
Thanks,
Dave, in rainy Salem
