I have a Quicksilver MX II that I am rebuilding. I have not flown this AC or any UL as yet but as that I weigh 240lb I am assuming that useful load will be at a minimum. This UL has a steerable nose wheel and the thought crossed my mind of converting this back to non-steerable with toe brakes to save the weight. I have no idea of what I would be giving up and would like a knowledgeable opinion on if this decision would be worth while and what would be lost in converting back vs the extra useful load.
