Hi,
I'm planning to buy and build a kit helicopter. My mind is pretty much set on a manufacturer or two but I wondering if it would be better to settle for a "piston engine" to start with or "turbine engine".
I've read about few guys retrofitting a Solar turbine engine in their RW 162F and seem to pledge for those engine since then.
Supposing that I'd like to build a A600 Talon, would it be advisable to "start" with the manufacturer piston engine and then upgrade to turbine later or since you already have the bare bone airframe in your hand, it would be better to modify it right at the start? My greatest concern about choosing a different engine than what the manufacturer proposes is that I'd loose the manufacturer' support for that part at least.
Thanks
