This is interesting reading/history. It show how close the SAL mustang development was to the already completed MJ77.

Thank you very much, great value!

Back in the midle of the 80' , I bought both MJ 7 and 77 plans, direct from Marcel, visiting him in his , yet, parisian home...

SN/51 for both..... long time ago, now

Marcel JURCA was a great person, after that, I meet him quite often... until the last ceremony , when he died.

A few years before, we had an arrangement , Marcel and me .
He " gave" me one half of his last plane, wich was a Tempete, SN / 17 F-PVQP that was dismantle for overall
As counterpart, I had to bring the thing back to flight!
it was a good deal,then.

After a few month, far less than 6, he comes to me and said :

"Ho, mon poulet , quand me payes tu le reste de l'avion? "
that's mean
hey, little chicken, when will you pay the second half of this plane?
thought it was quite funny, I paid " half " of the plane, and it was mine.....

During the 1980’s and 1990’s during the building of my Jurca MJ77 3/4 Mustang I had opportunity to visit with Marcel Jurca, visiting him outside of Paris, mid 1990’s and conversing with him by mail and phone. Additionally during the same time frame became good friends with Ken Heit his representative for Marcel in th US. According to Marcel and Ken, Marcel was in negotiations with SAL to produce a hit form of the MJ7 2/3 version. Accordingly SAL kept changing the ensign plans, Marcel got upset with SAL and cancelled the project. Obviously that didn’t stop SAL from taking the MJ7 design and produce kit on its own. Marcel was very very bitter. Spent many days traveling with Ken Heit visiting other Jurca projects around the country. That is what I know about SAL.
