Newbie here but here goes, this is actually covered in the new members but as it is a such a cool idea, i thought I should post it here.

The idea is basically a AR5 replica at poss 110% and made from glass sandwich and carbon spar or all carbon as a small fighter sport plane and a weight of only 660lbs as a FAI sub 300kg aircraft or at 720lbs as a slightly larger and more tourable version.

Power would be 582 rotax and 65hp, Jabaru 80hp, simmonini 102hp.
These are all simple and light engines and reasonably priced

Are you looking to have a single or two seat machine?
I was heavily inspired by the AR-5 (and a few others) when I started building my LR-2 in Sydney.
I've since had a bit of a delay by moving up to Taree, building a hangar and house, and have just got back into doing the moulds.
I like to think I'll have something flyable by Christmas, but I'm not holding my breath.
Once running ,I intend to sell as a kit.
You can follow my progress at my Picasa site.

Hi Guys, been a while getting back!
