Greetings,

I've seen occasional comments about actual flying v-twin engines, but it's often hard to tell if they were DIY, or an actual product that someone sold. I know Hummel sells a complete v-twin, but I don't know how many of those are flying, if any. I'd bet most are DIY at this point.

How many of the Predator 670 engines are flying? I'd be interested in something to use in place of a half VW on an Ultracruiser, and I thought about picking one of these up to put on a test stand. They seem to have been around forever, and there's lots of parts and support. I would definitely be using a PSRU. I haven't seen a price for the one Hummel sells, but once you do all the work that's needed, I wonder how much is really saved going the DIY route. It would be fun to tinker with though, even if I never installed it in a plane.

Thanks,
Rusty
