As I'm narrowing down my choices for a homebuilding project, I'm also thinking ahead to after the project is completed.
One thing I've discovered locally is that hangar space is at a premium. There are waiting lists to get in a hangar at local airports. The closest airport charges $350/month for parking an airplane indoors after you get a space.
I live about 20 miles inland from Charleston, SC. Closer to downtown the rent gets higher.
Is it like that in most of the country, with hangar space getting scarce?
Frankly, this has me thinking about a folding wing design, like the CH701. It takes up less space in a hangar, or it is trailerable to a more affordable storage facility.
So, here I am, getting close to starting a project, not knowing where I'll put it when I'm done. :ermm:
