I saw this and wanted to share.

We called him "Uncle Jerry". He was a great friend and was an an aviation pioneer, having flown, second to me, the most Viking hours in the world.

Jerry will be put to rest today, so think of him as your friend, as he was to anyone that crossed his path. In Florida, where we are, he would visit with his Escapade. He would drive errands and stock our company refrigerator with all kinds of cold drinks and food. He would buy anyone with a completed Viking installation a windshield cleaning and polishing kit.

Jerry was on his way to Oshkosh when he ran into bad weather, exhausted his fuel and landed too hard into the terrain. His flight plan was for the distance half way to Oshkosh from Carolina. Becoming trapped by IMC weather conditions, he exhausted the fuel supply, trying to reach an airport. He was last seen below a 700 foot ceiling, flying very low, with hills go! ing up into the clouds, all around him. He was trapped.

We all miss him terribly and will never forget our "Uncle Jerry"
