Hi everyone,

I'll be starting a Bearhawk sometime soonish and have a question related to the wing rib formblocks and possible "undercutting" on the flange side.

Technique 1) Make a formblock, radius both sides, pound ribs. Due to spring back in the aluminum, the ribs flanges won't be at 90 degrees to the rib "bulkhead", so you use a hammer to tap them into shape after using the formblock.

Pros: use 1 formblock both L and R ribs, so they are good and uniform
Con: have to hand "tweak" the ribs, so you can lose some of the uniformity

Technique 2) Make a L and a R formblock, undercutting the edge some so you bend the flange past 90 degrees, so that when it springs back it springs to 90 degrees.

Pros: All work is done on the formblock
Cons: 2 formblocks to make and you're bending past 90 degrees

What do people out there think is the best way to go about doing it?

Thanks!
