Hello,
I am new to this forum so bare with me. I am currently designing a flying wing electric powered R/C model glider. This is a follow on from my first attempt at a tailless model (with no vertical surfaces) which I am currently flying. (see picture)
I have been trying to get an accurate position for the centre of gravity and for the wing twist required. I know that in order to get the centre of gravity I first need to know the netral point, however I get differing results using different methods.
Using XFLR5 to model the design I get a netral point at 242mm back from the wing root foil leading edge. Using Curtis Suters excellent spreadsheet for swept flying wings I get 226mm. I wonder if anyone could tell me which is the most accurate and why?
