fiberglass over plywood for shear web in spar?

With the brown being the plywood, the blue being 2 layers of fiberglass on both sides in 45 degree orientation, and the rear as spruce spar caps, will this make a strong spar construction compared to a spar minus the fiberglass?

my concern is that the fiberglass is much stiffer then the wood, and bearing the majority of the load, then failing before the design load the the rest of the spar.
