Hello everyone,
So I have been thinking for some while now, to undertake my own little construction project, where the outcome will hopefully be an Ultralight, fulfilling the SSDR requirements here in the UK.
At the moment I am trying to build the aluminum (6082T6) fuselage structure first. The idea is to fix the base frame with alu. plates bolted to the square tubes. Round tubes will then fix to the wing and tail, supported by alu. square "connectors".
I don’t have any access to welding, that’s why this is my solution to the structure assembly so far.
Any potential problems with this idea? It would probably be better to use steel for the connectors, but I am trying to save weight!
