So I’m going to be wiring up P-leads to some mags soon and the wires and switch are all one unit, sealed together, nearly a hundred years old and practically irreplaceable. Also new old stock so effectively brand new. Anyways, I figure I have three more feet of wire than I’ll need so I’m thinking I’ll shorten it but not to the bare minimum, if that makes sense. You know, leave myself some excess for future repairs or if the inspector doesn’t like my routing or something.
I was thinking of securing a coil of excess wire somewhere behind the firewall and in front of the front instrument panel. Are there any best practices to follow if I do go ahead with this?
