I have just completed my initial control cable runs with twine to check clearances and bracket positions. The design follows the original Janowski J1-B layout with the exception of the rear bulkhead nylon lead block being a bit higher than the original to clear my larger tail cone bulkheads.
My questions are coming from the use of the nylon bar stock with slots to change the angle of the cable. Is there a rule of thumb maximum angle? How long will the nylon guides last before they need to be changed out? It is not to late to make brackets and put in some small pulleys if required. When looking at the photos realize that the fasteners are all temporary(incorrect length, no cotter pins, no pulley safety straps, etc.). I already changed the upper aileron pully from a cantilevered bolt to one with a box standoff.
Also let me know of suggested books with hints on cable system runs and lead systems.View attachment 18903View attachment 18904View attachment 18905View attachment 18906
