The associated shim kit had enough shims to allow me to get the spacing and clearances I wanted. With the demise of Aircooled.net, I ordered directly from CB Performance; they shipped quickly in a painless transaction.
My VERY EARLY Production AeroVee 2.1 had the stock hairpins and wavy washers. I decided to replace them before First Flight. Current production kits have bolt together rocker shafts, and have for a LONG time. The higher than stock lift cam puts a bit more than stock lateral stress on the stock setup, even at the low RPMs we run.

Google Photos Assembled with shims. Drill bit holds the stand in place to get the intake and exhaust rocker clearances right, or at least close to it. CHECK THE FREE MOTION OF THE ROCKERS ONCE THEY ARE INSTALLED ON THE HEAD. One one side, it took me a couple of swings to get the innermost shims/stands/spacers right.
