Looking forward to getting my E-LSA which will have the Rotax 503 in it. However, while flying today, I heard a "Mayday" over guard. It was a Skyarrow who's engine was almost out, then regained power, and he said he thought it was icing and he tried using the carb heat.
I guess I never really thought about icing conditions with a little experimental plane, but it obviously can be an issue.
Will the Rotax 503 I will be using have issues with icing? Or do I more have to worry about that if I am going to be flying in the non-summer months?
