Bill Higdon mentioned in another thread that the late Al Backstrom had suggested putting a Turner T-40-style canopy on an Evans VP-1 Volksplane. For anyone that doesn't know, Backstrom was very active in homebuilt sailplane and airplane circles from the 1950s until at least the 1980s and continued to give presentations and attend workshops into the 2000s. He is best known for his EBP-1 Flying Plank tailless sailplane and was widely known and respected in the flying wing community. He was also a very prolific model aircraft designer and builder and a quick Google search will turn up many of his model plans. I went back to find the article that I vaguely remembered from old issues of Sport Aviation but since it was actually a series of articles, I thought I'd go ahead and post them all here for future reference.
