There were lotsa 2 spar constructions in the thirdies and twenties...and modern fighters have multitude of them on some designs.
Some folks seem to think one at the thickest point is the best solution. What are the pros and cons of having one spar vs. 2 or more spars ?
I am especially interested about how the stressed skin can deliver if there is a thick and extra hard spar inside of it. If it is same material I sorta understand it better.
How do different materials work with each other distributing loads and and preventing flutter ( torsional stiffness ) ?
