Hi. As a general rule, should an all-wood or wood & fabric A/C always be hangared rather than just tied down on the ramp? Is there some general agreement on which types of homebuilts can be left on the ramp & which can’t? I assume all-metal and all-composite birds would be unaffected by weather, but are tube & fabric birds also relatively weather-proof? How about something like the KR which is wood & composite? This may be an important factor for me in choosing a homebuilt since I could probably buy enough gas for 10 hrs or more of flying on the difference between hangar & tie-down. I live in sunny Southern California, but it does rain on occasion. Thanks.
