You don't often see this sort of double-hinged canopy anymore, where the side and roof are rigid units with the side panel running in a track so it is never loose. They seem to have been fairly common on interwar and some postwar designs, whether single-seat or tandem or side-by-side, sometimes with roof section transparent and sometimes not. For side-by-side designs it seems like a good solution if you are going to have both people enter and exit from one side. Are there any issues with this sort of canopy that would make it problematic? One that I can see is that it would be more challenging to design and install if the cockpit sides aren't exactly parallel, but that doesn't seem like a problem for a new original design.
