Quick question for the gurus….
I’m building a Highlander to be used almost exclusively on floats. It’s powered by a Suzuki G13BB inline four, injected. Rather than using my two (7) gallon wing tanks and all the corresponding plumbing, can I use a 20 gallon aluminum auxiliary tank instead? I don’t need to rely on gravity feed (electric fuel pump pressurized), and using a single tank with a return would be a simpler design, reducing the distance of fuel lines and prospective possible failures. I could likely find a flat tank that would fit perfectly in my cargo area, and would hardly use any cargo space. I could have a custom shaped tank fabricated to fit exactly, and also build in a fuel sight gauge and baffles. Ideas?
