We will be doing the Vacuum Infusion Demo again this year at Oshkosh.
You can find us in the white tent next to the Replica Fighters clubhouse (which is west of the forums across Knapp St.)

The picture below shows the location (oriented the same as the Airventure map.)

We have a new aircraft design that will be our subject for our Infusion Demo.
We plan on doing some wet layup vacuum bagging as well for those who are not ready to make the leap to infusion.

Stop by and say hello.

I don't suppose you could publish what your materials and schedule will be. I've tried to get them for the last few infusion demos without success. Will this be an Innegra demo or something else?

Also, if I might make a suggestion for the video, assuming you do get video (please do!), please run the sound directly into the camera rather than miking the speaker. That way your voices will be intelligible rather than being drowned out completely by the normal sounds of Oshkosh.

I watched Russ Emanis' video on Youtube the other day, and it was pretty bad. I very much appreciated the effort to take the video and put it up there because it's tough for me to get to Oshkosh, but just a small $20 mixer off ebay would have made a world of difference.

Dan, another Kitplanes article would be great! Don't want to write it? Send me the photos and I will!

Dave, we use quite a variety of materials (fabrics and resin systems.)
I was making some infused items out of Basalt (a poor man's Carbon), fiberglass, various weaves of carbon fiber, Innegra but I don't think we used kevlar.
It will be the same mix this year.
Those who attend will see a little more in the mold making area.

Just a quick update as Oshkosh is fast approaching.
Russ is finishing the molds for the new airplane design. The plane will be light enough to qualify as a ultralight.
The initial prototype will be electric. I have no Idea as to what the expected battery life will be or what to expect as far as performance numbers.
This should be a good demo this year.

I'm just getting into the composite scene, I won't make it to Oshkosh(I really need to put that on my bucket list). Do you have a youtube channel or something similar?

If you have a passion for sport aviation, general aviation, corporate aviation, or WW II military aviation, and you think that you will be satisfied with a single visit, you are mistaken. Get there ASAP.

Oh definitely going to get there! Its just a matter of when the budget will allow it. hahahaha I'm in deep with my build and all available funds are funneled into that, however that being said, I think I have a majority of everything I will need to finish my build. Now its become all available time. hahahahaha.. I will still need to pick up a few parts here and there, but the bulk of everything is on the shelf waiting for me to get to it!

That Innova fabric in the article looks amazing. It's actually not too bad in price either...

What you see on the outside is the spread tow carbon fabric from Textreme.
We used that and a 2x2 twill CF from Firestone.

I believe you are thinking of Innegra which is a a fabric that is combined with Carbon Fiber to resist catastrophic failure.
It functions in a very similar manner when compared to the plastic material between the layers of glass in a windshield.

Here's the a picture of this years Vacuum Infusion part.
It is a fuselage for a new ultralight aircraft call Odyssey.
No weight as of yet but I'm guessing less that 30 lb.

I stopped by the say “hello” but you were in the middle of a presentation.

Please provide more info on the Odyssey when you can.
