I understand that you can still get Venture kits. Are there many serious and current builders out in the wild? I do know that a Venture build requires a huge skill in compound curvature.
There are 2-3 complete kits currently available for sale. The new owners have a nice supply of spares and all the tooling to go back into production. Their current primary focus is in supporting the current fleet and getting the Spirit model ready for production. There are a couple people that either have ongoing re-build projects or even a couple that are still new construction. Surprisingly the airframe isn't all that difficult. It is the old school way of construction where you need jigs and have to drill your own holes. What really drags most builds out is the system integration and rigging. Lots of complex moving parts in a very tightly packaged area.
