With my wing tanks leaks slowly getting worse I decided to go with a fuselage tank. I fabricated a 18 tank from .050 5052-H32 and had it welded and pressure tested by a well respected fabrication shop. It’s round 20 inches diameter 12 inches thick. I made SS support straps from vans plans and added two aluminum thru tubes for anti rotation and back up support. With my 0235 108hp RV3 18 gallons is sufficient. I did have to slightly modify brake petals to clear so 19 diameter and 13 thick would have been better. It’s a nice feeling to no longer have to worry about leaking fuel tanks.
