I'm considering purchasing a single-place Flightstar Spyder that currently has a 503 Rotax. With that engine it's too heavy for ultralight, but I'm considering re-powering it with a 277 Rotax I already have. Since the 277 is much lighter I'd expect it would need to be mounted farther forward than the 503 for the plane to still be within the acceptable range for weight and balance purposes. Research has indicated that they were available with a 277, but I can't seem to find any photos or info of a 277 installation on a Spyder. I'm trying to decide if it's something I should just forget about or maybe proceed.

Any personal experience with Flightstar Spyders or links to information about them would be appreciated.

Lynn
