Apologies if there's already a discussion on this somewhere; a quick search was unenlightening.
Have you all been enjoying the new Masters of the Air series on the American WWII bomber crews, from the Band of Brothers people? So far, two episodes in, it's been a fun ride and I'm looking forward to later eps.
I've seen some criticisms of historical inaccuracy already, but the makers have maintained they spent many, many hours researching and interviewing to try to keep everything accurate. The B17 crew getting lost flying over England and ending up over the French coast dodging flak apparently happened, despite some reviewers telling everyone who'll listen that that was so unrealistic. Armchair experts are always right, of course...
Apparently they built three full-size B17 replicas for the series.
It's funny how many English / Irish actors they've used for this production. From the intro scenes it looks like there'll be an episode, or episodes, featuring the Tuskegee Airmen which will hopefully erase the abomination that is Red Tails from our memories.
