I have been playing around with the Neal Willford Landing Gear Spreadsheet.
There is something that I'm not sure I understand.
It talks about the energy absorbed by the gear, gear deflection, tire deflection, energy absorbed by the tires, etc.
But what about the energy that must be absorbed by the fuselage at the gear mounting point? Is it the peak force of the landing, but 'spread out' in time by the gear? Or is it somewhat less because of the energy absorbed by the gear?
