Greetings,

Does anyone use a 50 hp Hirth 23 engine to power anything?

Specifically I was thinking about using it to power a 425# light 850# gross E-AB.

The plans I have call for an (unavalible) Rotax 503 (listed at 48-53 hp depending upon which source) spinning a 72" x 49" Culver wood prop.

The 55 hp Hirth 3202 has also been recommended.

I'm not opposed to other props or engines if I can understand the reasoning.

(Q: 1/99)

Can belt redrives be used in E-AB? Or is a gearbox required?
