:ban:I am rebuilding a Chinook WT-11. I don't like the wings construction so I have redesigned it, with the original airfoil shape, using the original alum tubular spars, but I am using foam ribs and an offset flaeron design and I will cover it with the 1.8 oz dacron and a good uv finish to protect the foam ribs. Anyone out there thats gone this direction? I'm never too old to learn something new. I am ready to start cutting out my foam ribs from Corning piok formular. 2" thick for the base inboard ribs and 1" for the rest with them on 12" centers and foam blocking and 6" on the nose ribs. I later plan on building an ultralight helicopter of my own design for the pitch control. I have alum extruded 7" cord blades at 10ft each. I have CAD drawings of my design and some of the materials I need for the project, but it is on hold until I get my Chinook completed.
