I vote for a finnish design from 1954 The KELTIÄINEN ;
Tiedosto:Heinonen HK-1 Keltiäinen.JPG
Insert; Heinonen HK-1 "Keltiäinen" aircraft in Finnish Aviation Museum. Designed and built by Juhani Heinonen in 1954. This aircraft achieved a world record in FAI class C-1 A (single engine land aircraft, takeoff weight below 500 kg) in 1957 by flying from Madrid to Turku without landing in 17 hours 1 minute. The record was not broken until 1974.
Keltiäinen means a Yeallow Meadow Ant !; http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Lasius_flavus

What is your favourite FAI record ?

The other record is 372 loops with a Fournier RFD-4 by mr. Nummela in an hour. :whistle:
