I'm looking for information on fiberglass capped foam ribs. Below is a link that I learned about foam ribs and their surprising strength when reinforced with wood or fiberglass. The foam ribs I had planned to use would be 1" thick capped with 1.5" wide fiberglass tape wrapped over the edges. I'm still a little unsure about their construction like number of layer to use so I may just add fiberglass until a certain weight target is reached. Does anyone have any info on this?

Should foam ribs be capped with fiberglass all way around or should they have fewer layers on certain parts such as the bottom side? Most wood ribs or sheet Al ribs I have seen seem to have the same amount of material along the top and bottom edges which probably answers my question.

Since these are fairly thick ribs I could probably get away with a wider spacing than the standard 1'. Does anyone have any data on this?

Thanks for any help
