So I was wondering if you all would give me pros and cons of using this general shape as a connection between the engine and the prop. This is a torque tube from a Corvette. Obviously it would be cut off about 6 to 8 inchesast the engine bell housing. This would contain the bearings both thrust bearings and bearings to take care of the other loads placed on a shaft by the prop. Maybe not using this particular product, but one like it that could maybe take more thrust loads. This would connect a ls1 to a prop direct drive. Obviously it would be a wood or composite prop that has better (meaning different than a metal prop) resonance issues.
