Can anyone advise, or point me in the right direction, as to the effect on crosswind capability of a taildragger (I realise the pilot is often the limiting factor!) of reducing the tire tread width. say from 6 inch tread width to 3 inch. (assuming all other aspects are ok)
Would for example, reducing tread width improve the aircraft's crosswind capability on grass due to higher ground pressure per square inch, or maybe reduce it on pavement due to the lower contact area reducing the ability to inhibit "sideways slip" ?
