It's difficult to belive that those Formula One racers in Reno are running at 250 MPH on a standard 100HP Contintental O-200, isn't it?

Is anyone aware of what kind of modifications (allowed and not allowed) are done on those Continental O-200? I've heard at modifications on the Crankcase. What do they do exactly? and what else?
