I have 2 Cayuna 430 R engines #1 engine is a 1980 I had it totally rebuilt. (New pistons, rings, bearing, seals, stator, rebuilt carb., fuel lines, ect.)
Engine # 2 1983-84 never started came right out of the crate.

Both engines have the same problem.

Hard to start then runs at an idle okay but as soon as I power up runs like crap then dies. I can't tell if it's flooding or not getting fuel. The plugs aren't wet as if running rich nor are they white as if running lean. I'm getting good hot spark. 118psi compression and the fuel pump is working. It has good suction from the carb. I have gapped the points to spec. and if the timing is off it's not much. should still run. I'm about to scrap these engines and build my own out of a Polaris 400 2 stroke which is 32 HP from factory but can be pumped up to 56 HP and weight less then those engines but it's still going to drive me crazy until I figure out this problem.
Anyone know how to fix this?
