Hello Everybody!

This is an amazing article from my Grandfather Tom Cassutt's personal aviation design files that I'm currently going thru, archiving in our Cassutt Aviation Museum & Library, & also releasing to the public so other Aeronautical Engineers, airplane designers, builders, etc. can benefit from the same information resources Tom leveraged throughout his life when learning about airplane design as well as the physics and mathematics needed for proper application.

Because he was a self-taught, autodidact savant, he continued to update and add to his personal aviation design archives all the way up til his passing in 2015, and his files were extremely meticulous and well organized. So even though this article was from 2003, he cut it out of the magazine and archived it in the original 1956 Cassutt 111 (Cassutt Special Model 1) Design Files Folder under the "Drag Physics" section because the article is specifically relevant to about how the Physics of Stone Skipping and the "Gravity-conquering grace of a well-thrown rock has inspired bomb makers, aircraft designers, and physicists."

It talks about the Drag Formula by Physicist Lyderic Bocquet and how it can be applied to aircraft design and aerodynamics. It's certainly a very interesting read and gives you an idea of the type of places Tom would get relevant, resourceful information to apply to his own knowledgebase and mental tool shed.

There's an attached PDF with the article as well as pictures posted below.

Plenty more archives coming. Stay tuned, and Happy Designing!
