In case anyone was interested... Rather than re-post everything, here is a link to what we've been doing to make the most of our brand new Bearhawk, first of type to New Zealand:

Bearhawk in the backcountry - Bearhawk Forums

Thanks to everyone who proffered me advice over the year and a half it took to build! The 1,800 hours work just flew by, excuse the pun, although it certainly didn't feel like it at the time.

It was all well worth it now, the machine performs as good or better than advertised. We are very, very happy with our selection.

Will be working on the aluminum flooring of the fuselage on my Bearhawk today. Bob Barrows is a friend of mine that lives a little south of me and I have flown the proto-type Bearhawk and I love it. Told Bob that for the mission, I would not change a thing. Great flying aircraft. His picnic is Oct 18 th, if anyone is interested in Bobs airplanes, you need to be there.
