Hi,
I was searching on the net trying to find examples of very simple tube and fabric wings of primary gliders, while I submerged a bit on the historic transition from hangliders to ultralights.
I therefore learn about Dick Eipper wich is known for being the founder of Quicksilver and a pioner hanglider pilot. The man no doubt deserves some credit at least from a homebuilt perspective, since he transitioned from experimental garage level technology to somehow set the standards of modern ultralights.
It is possible to find testimonials on the net of people who met him during the early days of hangliding. There is a picture of him, on the Quicksilver page, taking off from a cliff with a very simple plastic covered wood structure.
It is clear that he was very enthusiastic and passionate about flying and building as well. Therefore it is surprising that he vanished and quit building after selling his company early on the begining.
Does anybody knows what has become of him?
Thanks,
Oriol
