If you buy a Used Homebuilt/Experimental aircraft, can the New owner work on the plane, then take it to the Original Owner for inspection/sign-off, or do you need to take the plane to Original Owner for all service/repairs, or do you need to take it to a certified A/P mechanic, etc?

As a subsequent owner, are you limited to FAR: Part 43 maintenance restrictions?
